I agree, a hands-on approach

I agree, a hands-on approach is really important, especially for younger children. But I think everyone learns better when all (or most) of the senses are fully engaged. This method is a good way to give children the tools to teach themselves, and learn from their own experiences and mistakes, instead of just memorizing facts.
